No sound output through PYO #212

I am running OSX Catalina and I have not been able to get any sound output from PYO. Whenever I run the code, I get a brief amount of static and then silence. I also get a message saying that no midi outputs are found when running the code but as I understand it, that is not the issue. Has anyone received/overcome this issue? Thank you.
