Source info: For Affx, there is an API that returns a file list - http://www.affymetrix.com/analysis/downloads/netaffxapi/GetFileList.jsp?. It requires getting a license (Jordan and Ted worked that out at Selventa, but I’m guessing you will need a new one). See http://tools.thermofisher.com/content/sfs/brochures/netaffx_xml_feed_whitepaper.pdf . The files of Type ‘Annot CSV’ matching the arrays we care about should contain the equivalence to EGIDs. In many cases, there is a one (probe set) to many (gene) relationship.

Review OpenBEL namespace generator on how to handle the xml data for AFFX.
