From Natalie:

Our use case is degradation of NETs (Neutrophil extracellular traps) by DNAse1 (see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30378766). There are likely other macromolecules we may specifically want to represent the degradation of. We have been representing NETs as an abundance because they didn’t really need any special functions, but maybe we should think this through more.
