Discussion on attributes to be used for cartography-related purposes

We would like to request feedback from the community on the cartography attributes in the ICEG Data Model. Specifically, we would like to know if the following attributes (e.g. hydrant.type) for this entity are those that are required to see on a geographical card or if there are any attributes that are missing:

• hydrant.type
• Hydrant.status: for example, “Operational”, “Out of service”, “Scheduled for maintenance”, etc.
• hydrant.diameter
• Pipe.status: for example, “Operational”, “Out of service”, “Scheduled for maintenance”, etc.
• pipe_diameter: (e.g., 80-120 mm).
• hydrant.flowRate: for example, "20 L/s", "50 L/s", "100 L/s", etc.

Please note that inputs on the values expected for each attribute can be provided under other issues. Please share your feedback and suggestions so that we can improve the ICEG Data Model. Thank you in advance for your valuable input!

hello @Freddy-Theis-Zone-VHP, thanks for your feedback. I undestand that you are suggesting L/m, or liters per minute as unit of flow rate? Let's see if this suits other people. Also, regarding

borne-fontaine.diamètre Sorties? (2X45 - 1X70).

Do I understant that you suggest 2X45 - 1X70 as value for hydrant.diameter?

Bonjour @bahimc, je propose effectivement d'indiquer le nombre de litres par minute. C'est une mesure plus simple pour le calcul du débit.

En province de Liège, les bornes ont majoritairement comme diamètre de sortie: 1X110mm 2X70mm 1X70mm - 1X45mm 2X45mm

Cette valeur est importante pour les pompiers lors d'un incendie car elle permet de prendre un tuyau d'un bon diamètre pour le raccorder à une pompe. Et les bornes ne sont pas toujours proches. Cela permet de gagner de nombreuses minutes.

We received the input from Province de Liège regarding cartographic attributes:

• "Ressources publiques/privées": We believe this can be captured through the ownership (owner.type). Do you agree?
• "Borne" and "Bouche": We believe this corresponds to "hydrant.type" which has already been proposed above.
• "Zones de pompages" --> 1) "Par AP/CIT" 2) "Par moto-pompe": We believe this is about whether water is easily accessible or whether a pump is needed. We ask the group whether this needs to be included in the location entity and also if it should be used for cartography purposes?
• Categorisation between normal & high flow rate per hydrant: We believe this corresponds to "hydrant.flowRate". However, we have noticed from other input that this can also be depicted on a map by the "hydrant.diameter". We ask the group whether both attributes should be used for cartography purposes or whether only one should be used. In case of the latter, please indicate which attribute has the preference.
