An issue was raised about the use of the datatypes ‘DirectPosition’ and ‘EventDate’, for which we could reuse two existing ontologies. On the one hand, the ‘Core Location Vocabulary’ and on the other hand the ‘Time Ontology W3C’.
At the moment, we are using ‘EventDate’ with three attributes to indicate whether it is a start date, end date and/or a moment in time. Next to that we are using ‘DirectPosition’ to indicate what the specific location is and how it was measured.
Should we keep our current approach or include the data types above-mentioned in the model?
