For example, AWS IOT use certificates for establish the connection.

Hi, Have you tried, https://github.com/bellrichm/WeeWX-MQTTSubscribe/wiki/Configuring-additional-options#the-tls-section. I don't have a broker that uses TLS, so I haven't tried this "in the real world". So, I'll be interested in hearing how it goes. rich
