I have been using an older version of MQTT Subscribe without issue. I am setting up a new instance of Weewx 4.1.1 and MQTTSubscribe 1.6.2-rc01 and ran into these errors:

Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: File "/usr/share/weewx/weewx/engine.py", line 75, in init Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: self.loadServices(config_dict) Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: File "/usr/share/weewx/weewx/engine.py", line 138, in loadServices Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: obj = weeutil.weeutil.get_object(svc)(self,config_dict) Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: File "/usr/share/weewx/user/MQTTSubscribe.py", line 1543, in init Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: self.subscriber.start() Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: File "/usr/share/weewx/user/MQTTSubscribe.py", line 1460, in start Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: % (self.userdata['connect_rc'], self.userdata['flags'])) Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: KeyError: 'flags' Sep 28 06:47:46 weewxtempest weewx[12121] CRITICAL main: Exiting.

I see some differences in the entries in weewx.conf and I must have missed something.

This service acts as a filter, converting the unit system coming from

the hardware to a unit system in the database.

[StdConvert]

# The target_unit affects only the unit system in the database. Once
# chosen it cannot be changed without converting the entire database.
# Modification of target_unit after starting weewx will result in
# corrupt data - the database will contain a mix of US and METRIC data.
#
# The value of target_unit does not affect the unit system for
# reporting - reports can display US, Metric, or any combination of units.
#
# In most cases, target_unit should be left as the default: US
#
# In particular, those migrating from a standard wview installation
# should use US since that is what the wview database contains.

# DO NOT MODIFY THIS VALUE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
target_unit = US # Options are 'US', 'METRICWX', or 'METRIC'

The configuration options should have been backwards compatible.... For some reason the connection is failing and the current code had a typo when logging the connection failure. I just fixed the typo, so now we should see the connection return code. Could you try installing from master again and post what gets logged? Thanks. Rich

pmendiuk commented 3 years ago

Hi Rich, I reinstalled and those errors are gone.

Thanks, Patrick
