Imageless Voting Buttons #270

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
When browsing LW with browser images turned off, it is still possible to upvote
and downvote as normal, but the buttons have no graphical representation other
than blank space. This makes it slightly inconvenient to locate the voting
targets to click on, and moderately inconvenient to determine whether one has
already voted on a post/comment and, if so, which way (clicking the
upvote/downvote buttons and seeing the numbers change provide a simple test for
finding out, but is tedious to do on long comment threads).

Before the redesign, comments used text buttons for upvotes and downvotes,
which bolded after being pressed. If those could be used in comments/posts when
voting images fail to load, that would improve the imageless browsing
experience.
