Inconsistent error message for unknown user #426

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Attempt to login with a username that doesn't exist.
2. Attempt to recover password with username that doesn't exist.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

When I attempted to log in with a username that doesn't exist, the error 
message is that I am using the wrong password. When I am trying to recover my 
password, I am told the correct error message, that is, that the username 
doesn't exist.

What version of which web browser are you using? On what operating system?

Firefox 28. OS X 10.9

Please provide any additional information below.
