What feature or behavior would you like to see: I would like to see various ways to get mail when comments are posted. In particular, I'd like the option to always see comments in reply to me, or always see all comments to posts I've commented on, or to explicitly subscribe to a post to see all comments on it. ("see" in all three cases means "get emails for"). Tell us a story of a user using this feature (invent humorous character names): Mudge Franburger doesn't have a lot of free time, and has trouble remembering all the places on the web where information of interest to him might be hiding. So when he comments on a post on LW, he's happy that any followups to his comments are mailed to him.
