Notify by email when a new message or reply to comment is received #471

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Someone replies to one of my comments.

  1. The reply appears in my inbox and my inbox icon turns red.
  2. But I do not receive an email.
  3. In my preferences, my email address is correct.
  4. I do NOT see an option to receive an email when someone replies to one of my comments or posts. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I would like to receive an email when someone replies to one of my comments or posts. There is no way to turn such a feature on or off if such a feature exists.
