I'm wondering whether Fantasque Sans can provide a variant which every character is exactly 1/2em wide? I am Chinese and i want use this font with Han characters (supported by other fonts; exactly 1em wide).

Can you try the fonts from https://github.com/belluzj/fantasque-sans/releases/tag/v1.7-alpha.2 and tell me if they work for you? Thanks in advance.

I am trying to test v1.7-alpha.2. But on windows, Visual Studio, Vim, ConEmu will use the RegItalic style as the default Regular. So the default font are shown as italic.

I can open the pre-release fine on Windows using 7-zip.

I just discovered this issue, and, well, it's of great interest to me because I often encounter CJK/Japanese in files, and have been using a self-made version I called Fantasque Sans Mono Migu 1M, which is simply Fantasque Sans version 1.6.5 on top of Migu 1M, in my favorite text editor. Migu 1M a Japanese fixed-width font whose Japanese glyphs are similar in spirit to Fantasque, giving nice results. I'm using gdipp for better rendering, and your font is absolutely gorgeous. Merci pour cette superbe police, by the way!

Here is what it looks like. Version 1.6.5 of Fantasque Sans gives almost perfect results. At 9pt, 12pt, and 15pt (96 DPI), the double width (e.g. Japanese) and single-width glyphs align perfectly (as in, 1 double width character = 2 single width characters in terms of width): (I'm also getting Issue #50 at size 9pt@96 DPI, by the way).

Unfortunately, as soon as one drifts from those three sizes, it's getting misaligned:

I'm going to perform some tests with this alpha release, and report back. Of course, this could also be on Migu 1M's side, in which case I'd be SOL. PS: Is there a way to get the latest version of the font? One which would contain the latest improvements, e.g. the Cyrillic glyphs, and which would be a strict 1/2 em variant.

Hello,

I updated the half-em variant with the latest improvements. You can download it and comment on this issue if it solves your problem.
