Too much character spacing in Emacs #85

I've tried to set up Fantasque Sans Mono Regular SS01 w/ Emacs on a couple of Linux machines (Laptop, Raspberry Pi). Both of them have way too much character spacing then there is supposed to be. Other fonts look okay. Changing the character spacing in Emacs doesn't work.

is your problem only in the SS01 version or in the standard version too?
