Tethering speed is sporadic #11

I suppose I compare everything against PDAnet which seems to be the current gold-standard at least based on the performance I've gotten out of a number of tethering packages.

The biggest complaint with the combination of this package(Tether) with the phone-side ClockworkMod Tether is how unreliable the connection speeds are.

For example when I run a speed test it will trickle along at 1Mbps then spike to something absurd like 25 Mbps at the last second.

So while PDAnet suffers from application instability ( the damn program wont stay stably connected to my phone )... THIS combined package has issues with maintaining speed.

On the up-side it IS stable.

My uneducated assessment says the speed inconsistencies have something to do with whether its actually hiding the tethering usage from the carrier.

This process (I hesitate to call it a package) has gotten me REALLY close to a functioning stack of software, save for the phone to PC maintaining a connection.

Note it DOES work with clockworkmod, but the speed inconsistencies remain. Possible because of conflicts in routing table edits. CWM uses a TUN interface while the below process mentions no specific phone <> pc tethering package.
