As long as I'm going to need certain third-party plugins (instead of recreating that functionality myself in the theme, which sounds like a lot of reinventing-the-wheel), a late-stage quality-of-life improvement to this project would be adding packaging required plugins. This would really only come in handy when first installing the theme in a new environment, so it's not urgent.
