version 5.3 requires mod Space-Bosstools Steel to create compressed steel. The mod specific steel can be crafted in the Space-Bosstools Blast Furnace, but there is no recipe in JEI for that machine. Using mekanism steel exhibits weird behavior in the Space-Bosstools compressor. The ingots are eaten with progress being started, but then immediately dropped if the input reaches 0. In testing it takes about 19 mekanism steel to get the progress bar to finish and produce a compressed steel. If additional information would help please let me know.
