FPS Drops on mouse input in some games with EAC #117

Game: Fall Guys Problem:

  1. FPS drops on mouse input (just WASD or afk = 144 Hz const)
  2. After exiting the game, the anti-cheat says that rbtray dll is untrusted

Fun fact If you connect a second mouse together with the first or just change the mouse (in my case I took a very old and very simple mouse), then there will probably be no more FPS drops

I have this same issue, but in Dead By Daylight. FPS goes to 0 when moving mouse and the game only unfreezes after stopping mouse movement. Same EAC error but it usually doesn't show when I exit, only shutting off the pc while the game was running got it to pop up and led me here. Never would have guessed that it was RBtray causing it otherwise.

Plugging in a second (very basic one here too) mouse did nothing for me though.

Seems like this is long lasting problem Refer to: https://github.com/benbuck/rbtray/issues/13 and https://github.com/benbuck/rbtray/issues/17 Read this comment to apply --no-hook flag: https://github.com/benbuck/rbtray/issues/64#issuecomment-1324027309

I have experienced this issue with Fortnite. Here is example video: https://youtu.be/ta-0DSeT30E

How I discovered it's RBTray: I used ChatGPT to suggest me troubleshooting and one step was actually helpful and something new. I created new Windows account on my PC and it worked fine there - meaning, it's software issue. I already had issue with EAC with game Goose Goose Duck, so I had another shortcut created as workaround (using "Play" button in Steam would make it go wrong). I don't think we are good to expect RBTray to be modified. It's Anticheat that need to take RBTray into account.
