Old vsearch version not supported and LSU database seems to be unavailable #2

Just to quickly note that vsearch>2.4.3 seems to be required by MetaxaQR to make --makeudb_usearch to work at the time of running metaxaQR_install_database -g SSU. It might be useful to have this indicated on the installation guide writeup. Also the LSU database for MetaxaQR seems to be unavailable as of now. If I remember rightly, this was made available with Metaxa2. Any plans to make a new version of the LSU database also available for MetaxaQR? Thanks

Sorry for the long delay. Yes, the LSU database will also be available before we officially release MetaxaQR. @Wettersten who did much of the work on the new version has moved on to another position, unfortunately, and we also moved from one university to another over the summer, so updates has been lagging. But the development continues, albeit at a lower pace.

With regards to the --makeudb_usearch option, I would recommend any version of vsearch >2.5.1, as the earlier ones have known bugs with the UDB handling. Yet, this should be pointed out in the documentation. Thanks for letting me know!
