I currently get the tasks by scanning the output of grunt --help, which is unreliable as you can see.
It seems to be breaking on tasks that have multi-line descriptions and I've made a fix for this in v0.1.12. However, now it's possible for tasks to be ignored if they don't have descriptions, which is also a problem but less likely to happen.
As for the extra tasks, I'm guessing its probably because grunt --help displays all registered tasks and the newer package registers some tasks for internal use.

Not sure where the first five quoted ones are coming from. There are also several taks related to newer that aren't in the file.
