wii crashes when making mii #94

any idea what would cause the sytem to lock up with an error when trying to 
create mii? Everything else works fine and i was able to create a character by 
chosing defaults and quickly saving it but if i take too long the game black 
screens with an error.

My wiikey fusion is allowing me to play games and its brand new it just doesn't 
show up like the "directions" say it should and i'm still unable to play games 
from the external wbfs drive but "backups" i've made on cd work fine. I have 
installed homebrew and managed to downgrade to 4.1 using letterbomb and then 
dop mii.
