New sound effect is very harsh

It reminds me of "Space Invaders" and sounds like I'm zapping the person I'm 
paying.

Perhaps an alternative would be to take some soft chimes in a sequence of 
notes, and play it each time a new peer announces the transaction. Once you 
hear the music complete you know propagation has finished?

I first had the idea to find a sound that matches with the 'receive' sound in a 
way so that the receive is a continuation of the send. However, I failed 
finding adequate sounds at all, and I'm not in the position to create own 
sounds.

Yeah. The listentobitcoins guy might have some freely available chime sounds. 
It doesn't seem like it should be hard to locate such a sound library.
