Bitcoins not returning after restore #251

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create wallet
2. Receive coins
3. See balance
4. Back up private keys
5. Wipe phone
6. Restore keys
7. Await balance to be restored

My balance isn't being restored. I can see my coins online linked to my wallet
but they aren't appearing in bitcoin-wallet. I've left it running for over 2
days hoping it was just waiting to sync but no update yet.

Am I being impatient? Or has something gone wrong and I need to recover my
coins somehow?

Latest version from google play
Samsung Galaxy s2 running cyanogenmod 10.1.2

Thanks, Lloyd.

Can you send me a dump of your wallet? Its Options > Settings > Send report and
tick "wallet dump". In the generated e-mail, please refer to this issue.

Ahha, resetting my block chain resynced and retrieved my balance. Phew.

Had I done things correctly or is this an 'unsafe' way to look after my wallet?
Thanks.

Restoring a wallet per se is safe. However, if you should be sharing a wallet
between multiple devices, that's generally unsafe (because you can make stupid
mistakes).
