Official announcement is on our lab website: https://callahanlab.cvm.ncsu.edu/opportunities/

A postdoctoral scientist position (2+ years) is available in Prof. Benjamin Callahan’s at North Carolina State University. The postdoc will lead the development of new methods for the analysis of high-throughput microbiome data, and the implementation of those methods as tools accessible to the wider research community. Applicants are expected to have obtained a PhD in a field related to either half of “quantitative biology” (eg. computer science, statistics, physics, …; ecology, genetics, evolutionary biology, …), to have strong computational and communication skills, and to be interested in collaborative research on complex microbial communities. Position to start on or after July 1, 2017, preferably before the end of the year. This position includes a $50k starting salary, benefits, and a travel budget. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and applications will be considered until the position is filled. To apply, please email Benjamin Callahan (bcallah@ncsu.edu) with a curriculum vitae (CV) and a description of your research interests.

The Research Triangle is a nice place to live: UNC, Duke, NC State and Research Triangle Park all within 30 miles of each other. A lot going on, in both research and life.

We made a hire for this position.

We're still interested in students (undergraduate or graduate) that would like to work on solving problems in microbiome data analysis, and/or using those methods to analyze interesting study systems!
