Status tab not updating #62

Another side effect of #60 is that the Status tab isn't updating automatically, until you press the back button to close the activity and re-open the app from the launcher.

Works fine from a fresh start - just seems to fail after running for a while - will continue to investigate.

This appears to be sorted now, after much refactoring of the Status screen.
