Additional Lists #327

Open conradhagemans opened 8 years ago

Hi,

I have a list of the top 50 Car manufactors. Also a list of all 2-letter country codes (ISO 3166)

Should/Could they be added to the system?

I am using now custom lists

benkeen commented 8 years ago

Hi @conradhagemans, great! I'd say the top 50 car manufacturers would be best added to the Custom List Data Type in the example dropdown: feel free to either edit the code to add them or just paste them here and I'll update it.

The country codes are different... hmm, it's difficult to know where the best place for those are. Seems like the country-specific data is all getting a bit confusing now, there's so much hidden logic going on to "intelligently" generate what users need. Mind just posting the 2-char codes here? I'll leave this ticket open until I figure out what to do with it.

How would you like me to deliver the car manufactory list?

Hi Benjamin, Now I looked more into the code I think I figured out how to add additional lists to the system. But I noticed that you have to insert them into the language/country file. Is there also a general file where you can put lists in that are valid for all countries?

benkeen commented 8 years ago

Hmmm... I guess not. Normally with my other multi-language projects I hook it up to automatically pull any missing translations from the base English translation file, but it doesn't appear that this is the case here. I'll put that down as a feature request.
