I wanted to output a C-xxxxx format where "C" is fixed. But since it's the same char as a placeholder character it always gets replaced.
I guess you could work around this by using this field in conjunction with the Computed Data Type, and just have the hardcoded "C" within the Computed field, but it wouldn't work for characters in the middle of the string, and you'd be stuck with extra generated rows of stuff you don't want.
I think just offering the option to escape any special character you wanted would probably work best, like \C-xxxxx. Technically it wouldn't be 100% backward compatible, but I doubt anyone would be impacted...
