I use Microblog to keep track of my Twitter feed in Pidgin but I wish I
wouldn't get notified each time it updates.  I'd kind of like it to behave
more like a chat window where it would only notify me if say my name is
mentioned or I get a direct tweet.

Pidgin already has the option to configure how the window should behave when 
new messages are received. The microblog plugin should follow this same 
configuration.
