Can't login to local Status.net server #184

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create new account: Laconi.ca (closest to Status.net)
2. provide username & local server (tried with & without "index.php")
3. Attempt to login

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to be connected.  Instead get:

- user@server disconnected
Authentication error

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.2.4 from ppa
Ubuntu Karmic (9.10)
