Enabling offline for Gmail gives permission denied to use gears #909

Platform:
  Hostname: ismail-powermacg5.local
  Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 (Build 9L20)
  Processor: 2 PowerPC 2.30 GHz
  RAM: 2048 MB

Gears:
  Gears version: 0.5.26.0  <<<Release>>>

Installed Browsers:
  Safari: 4.0.1 (5530.18)

1.  Take a clean machine and Install Safari Gears on latest Safari browser
2.  Launch Gmail, sign In and try to enable the offline
3.  Click "Offline" link on Gmail
4.  Displays a dialog popup  "Install offline access for Gmail"           
Say "Next"

Actual Result:

A next dialog popup shows

This page does not have permission to use Gears.

To allow this page to use Gears:

Open your browser's 'Settings'
Click 'Gears Settings'
Remove http://mail.google.com from the list of denied sites
Restart Gmail."

Note:
When Verified "Gear Settings" from the browser , it shows
http://mail.google.com -- "allowed"

Reproducible on both leopard and tiger.
