What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Load Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1)
Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5
2. Visit http://gears.google.com/

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected: "Install Gears" button, or "Gears is installed" on a blue box.
Actual: No blue box appears, the right hand side of the page is empty.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

  Mac OS X 10.5.8

Please provide any additional information below.

In order to narrow down the issue, I cleared my cache and reset my
Firefox profile (rm -Rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Firefox) before
submitting this report. No settings have been changed in Firefox.

The HTML source shows all of the necessary bits are there, but the
Javascript does not appear to be triggering it's display. Firebug showed no
error messages out of the ordinary. HTML source and screenshot attached.

The workaround is to visit http://code.google.com/p/gearsff35osx/downloads/list
and
download the XPI directly. Once installed, the Gears page shows the expected
"Gears
is installed" blue box.
