Won't update location manually, won't update by location detection either #963

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use Gears
2. Input Manual Address
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output is the location update. What I see is red text "Location 
(location you typed) 
could not be found" 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Google Gears latest version for Firefox on Mac OSX 10.6.1 Snow Leopard

Please provide any additional information below.

Gears doesn't support OSX 10.6. See

That's confusing. I'm its "unavailable" why am I able to un-install and 
re-install
gears in firefox and safari in 10.6,1? Why does offline Gmail and Gcal work if 
"gear
isn't available" for 10.6?
