Some users will surely follow Cherokee via scripts that simply sit and
monitor your site for changes - However, having a deep hierarchy to get at
the code (i.e.
http://www.cherokee-project.com/download/0.9/0.9.3/cherokee-0.9.3.tar.gz)
makes it a bit of a regex entanglement ;-)
So... Could you provide a top-level «LATEST» link? That way, we can just
look at the highest version number in
http://www.cherokee-project.com/download/LATEST (which would be
http://www.cherokee-project.com/download/cherokee-0.9.3.tar.gz right now)
Thanks!

...Should be marked as 'enhancement', not as 'defect', FWIW

Hello Gunnar!

We have had a way to grab the latest tarball since long time ago, although I'm
not sure whether it's what you're
looking for:

    http://www.cherokee-project.com/cherokee-latest-tarball

Please, let me know if it works for you.. (if so, please, close the bug) :-)

In the end, I didn't use this (as it provides the .tar.gz as a whole,
but not a version number to compare against, which is what I'd need) -
but didn't require it either. I found that Debian's 'uscan' can
properly cope with this kind of nested directories. So, for the next
upload and onwards, I'll change my debian/watch to:

version=2
http://www.cherokee-project.com/download/([\d\.]+)/([\d\.]+)/cherokee.([\d\.]+).
tar\.gz
debian uupdate

I do not have the privileges to close bug reports - Please go ahead and close
it.
