GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
System:
 - Linux distribution: ubuntu jaunty 32-bit
 - Machine type: 64-bit
 - Mupen64Plus version: 1.5-development (compiled from sources and 1.5
binary)
- Plugins used:
Jttl´s Audio-development
Rice´s video plugin 1.5-development

 - CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5400+
 - RAM: 1.7 GB
 - onboard audio card: RealTek AC'97 with
a NVidia chipset.

Problem:

- The sound is horribly choppy on all games (mario kart, bomberman hero,
mario party 3, super smash bros... and many others).
I have tried aoss, padsp, sdl internal mixer and oss mixer...

This is a known problem with pulse audio + SDL. If you remove pulse audio the
problem will go away.

uninstalling pulseaudio doesn´t change anything.

Same problem here. It does seem to be PulseAudio. This should be fixed, because
PA is
becoming a standard on linux distributions.

I agree it should be fixed, but there's nothing that we can do to Mupen64Plus
to fix
the problem. The problem lies between SDL and PulseAudio. It seems that there
is a
potential workaround here:
