Forum: laying out the possibilities

As you now know, throughout the semester, I will periodically ask you to develop proposals for a collaborative final project that will allow you to integrate – and extend – what you’ve learned about composing digital media. This is the second of those proposals; you can directly reference an idea from the last one, or start fresh. The question is almost the same:

What further possibilities of graphic design might you want to explore in connection with other people, and other media?

As far as a career goes graphic design plays a huge roll in marketing so it is a valuable skill to have. if I were to go further into the field of graphic design I would like to learn more about the professional way to market and design marketing campaigns. This goal is going to take some work especially if you saw the project I am working on because if that were marketing anything, well nobody would be buying it. Editing for sports is also very fun and something I would be interested in. Sports is such a wide field and their are so many ways to edit pictures of everyone's favorite athletes.

I would love to figure out how to animate an image and create some sort of engaging advertisement. I want to go into a career related to theater or film so I would like to use that to make an interesting ad or promotion that goes beyond just a plain image.

So far, we have worked with sound and image editing. I think it would be useful to put the two ideas together into one project. Possibly video editing? Animating an image would also be useful, perhaps in a gif format. Free video editing software isn't easy to find, so we would have to look for one.

Like many of my other classmates, I think that it would be really cool to learn how to make a Gif.

I am super interested in learning how to better edit videos, as I have said before. This is more for a personal hobby, because I like to record and edit videos. As for a skill I would like to strengthen that can be used in a future career, I really want to focus on graphic design. Marketing and graphic design go hand in hand, and are also two of my passions.

Going back to my previous blog post, I think it would be cool to explore the abilities of of interactive sound. The example that I had before was some type of game, but now I'm leaning towards any sort of interactive soundscape.

I've had a great time using programming to further develop my visual argument, and I would love to be able to work on a project like this with others. Even if they aren't in CS, if I could do programming towards some end goal. This would be a great way to learn, for myself, how to work with others outside of CS, and for them, how CS can improve a project that you might not have otherwise thought.

I am a communications major on a digital media track so social media is a big part of what I want to do in my future. Doing some type of social media/campaign type thing with a group could be really fun and a great way to collaborate with others and learn how they do things that might be different from yourself.
