The next version of containers will implement its own Lift instances.

As a Hackage trustee, I have revised th-lift-instances-0.1.11 and up to add bounds containers < 0.6.6. See e.g. https://hackage.haskell.org/package/th-lift-instances-0.1.19/revisions/.
