When downloading that file and comparing to revisions, it looks like v1.0.0 should be tagged at 0d64518b9801d552d61cbfb4e7ac602.
When looking at the commit log initially I would've expected it to be 19393281446f (which is the last commit on that day, before the 3 year gap in the history). But it isn't.
Having a git tag makes it a lot easier to link to the repository tree from other websites or when just browsing GitHub to find the code at that release.
