I'm questionning the (geo)json format itself in the standard and I'm wondering if we could use something else (flatgeobuf or geoparquet). Or maybe using WKB geometries rather than GeoJSON for the geometries at least. Do you have any info or opinion to share on this topic?

Hi,

yes it could be an option according to the mime-type expected in return. It is only a matter of available time to spend on this subject.

I am glad to see someone is interested at this project: we are looking for feedbacks to validate the new features in order to merge into upstream. Feel free to create issues!
