Covert document to LaTex #1700

Hey. I wish to know if it is possible to convert the source files of the written documents to LaTex source files. I wish to be able to edit the files along with pandoc locally. From whar i saw mentioned in the app, it makes use of KaTex (a distribution of LaTex) but i can't find that much about it out there. Please if it possible to convert the source files to LaTex, how can it be done. Thanks

I have found another solution using pandoc directly. I exported all my files to markdown and use pandoc CLI to convert each of them to latex files. I used the command 

pandoc --from=markdown --output=filename.tex filename.md
