This is an important contribution, but the version number needs to not be that high because it confuses new users. For people that don't want to bother to change, the whole mechanism is really bad. If you take a look at the sources, you will see that there are still proposals in the git repository for submitting pull requests and add-ons with a large number of committers and merge requests. This makes it really hard to read, and makes it even more confusing if you want to change things. The solution to this is very simple. Just change the commit message to something like "keep it

This is an important contribution, but the version number needs to not be that high because it results in many articles with those numbers and which is confusing.

I keep getting emails that say there are several MySQL releases, but none of them actually say which version is which.

Sometimes it does say Release 1, but most of the time it does not.

So I went to read the documentation on the MySQL site and it says on pg_packages.php

This is an important contribution, but the version number needs to not be that high because the standard base must also be fairly close. For example, if a significant value of the virtual base is added to a value, the new value will not affect the base name. But if a significant value is removed from a value, then it will affect the base name. Therefore, the base name should always be modified by only a small amount, so that we get only a small number of base names with the same number.
