Adding new languages lighthouse popup: no Start Translating button #31

Hi,

Really can't find anything in the documentation to help me out here.

Moved from an older version of the Tr8n plugin which allowed you to begin adding a new translation by opening the "Select a Language" lighthouse window, selecting the new language from the drop down list of languages needing translation, then clicking the "Start Translating" button.

Recently updated to the 3.1.8 gem and noticed the same lighthouse popup appears but is missing the "Start Translating" button, so have no idea how to begin adding a new translation.

Here are side by side screenshots of the two popups, latest version without the button on the right.

Sorry if I'm being a bit dim here but am currently stumped.

Cheers.

Derek, i am a bit confused myself here. I don't remember to ever adding the drop down list of languages or the translate button to either one of the versions of tr8n. I believe that the drop down box and the button are an extension to tr8n that someone in your company had added.

The drop down is redundant because all the languages are listed in the box above. If you would like to add additional languages to the list, you just need to enable them in the admin tool. Similarly, the translate button would probably do the same thing that the Enable Inline Translations does - which is basically starting the translation process. I notice one thing in your screenshot that you are still in English language - and since English is the default language of your site, it cannot be translated into itself.

Can you point me to your web site url, so i could check if there is anything else that needs to be configured?

Ah, OK. Actually we are trying to set up a site using an OS project hosted on Github, so we didn't realise they had made quite so many changes to the version of the Tr8n plugin they were using. Think I'll download Tr8n and see how it's supposed to work. Sorry, not really an issue then :-)

And yes, I know English was selected when I took the screenshot, I was only opening the popup to take the image. The way it works with the button was you selected a new language from the dropdown then clicked the Start Translating button, the page would then reload with that new language selected and everything underlined in red as it should be.

So really on a standard installation of Tr8n we should be clicking on the Configure Tr8n link in the popup to add languages to the list? OK. I just checked and couldn't see any way of doing that.

I'll have a look at the documentation. Sorry about that :-)
