carlos, they have to find a working exploit first, which is very difficult to do
because the ipod touch 2g is distinguishable different from all other apple
ipod or
iphone products. just sit back & relax, it will probably take a while (if they
are
ever going to be successful)

If there is a exploit found with some of the software that is included with the
ipod
touch like the jpeg library, tiff library, openssh, openssl, and many others.
Can
these be used as a satisfactory exploit for a 2g jailbreak, I wanted to know
cause I
would like to try and help in someway to get a 2g jailbreak.

no, chronic made it pretty clear that apps don't have root, if it were that
simple
then the ipod 2g would of already been jailbroken.
and i doubt that you can help, if you can't stand the wait just keep your eyes
open &
observe on how the jailbreak is doing (at least that's what I am doing),
although he
did mention that you can donate. (talking about chronic-dev, not iphone-dev).

congratulations! with the many people asking that red snow be released soon, I
know
that you may feel pressure to cut corners. If you could use and help refining
the gui
or any simple tweaks or beta testing then I am your man.

I can't wait! Hopefully you'll release a beta version like with yellowsn0w. I
really
want to try it out and possibly help you find any bugs.
