My job is coding, my passion is electronic music – so why not combine the two? I'm using Node.js to control my music software, broadcasting its audio signal online.
The music mix and style are auto-generated, randomly at first. Listeners provide feedback by clicking “Applause!” and “Boo!” buttons in a web UI built with React.
The feedback data trains a neural network, which then improves the music. I'll show you how I've built this and introduce you to the library Brain.js, which made it possible.

Mixing Music With Neural Networks
Abstract
My job is coding, my passion is electronic music – so why not combine the two? I'm using Node.js to control my music software, broadcasting its audio signal online.
The music mix and style are auto-generated, randomly at first. Listeners provide feedback by clicking “Applause!” and “Boo!” buttons in a web UI built with React.
The feedback data trains a neural network, which then improves the music. I'll show you how I've built this and introduce you to the library Brain.js, which made it possible.
Then let's try it out together in a live demo!
