Compass not reacting #248

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open View/Compass

What is expected? What do you get instead?
- expecting a working compass - getting a not working compass

What version of the product are you using?
- 1.5 on Defy+ (Android 2.3.6)

Please provide any additional information below.
- the compass works with other programs
