Reason:

GRPC doesn't work quite well with Unity Fix:
For now, the replacement will be a http server (syncronous) serving the protobuf messages.
In the future, it should use websockets to comunicate asynchronously.

How about zeromq?

I am not sure about unity but I have used it coupled with google protobuf to establish communication between a Linux/python and another Windows/C# platforms.
