Tested on a 10k file directory. Takes a bit, but works! :D

Lovely! Thanks for taking the time to address an outstanding TODO in the code base. I'll merge it locally and test it and inspect some time and let you know how it goes. Might take a while ... if I don't get back to it, feel free to ping a reminder. Load of distractions currently.
