Changing pointer and moving labels up #259

I have seen the label question brought up several times. Is there anyway to move the labels up a tad? I want to move them off of the edge of the gauge. As well, I am wondering if we can change the style of the pointer? I want to do an arrow instead of a needle. Is there a way to change that?
