Python 2.6 compatibility #2

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install under Python 2.6
2. Run the "gvoice" script
3. Watch the fireworks (traceback)

The following is the traceback produced:

    regex = bytes("('_rnr_se':) '(.+)'", 'utf8')
TypeError: str() takes at most 1 argument (2 given)

This works fine on Python 2.5 however.
