Slow postback after selecting a file in IE8 Only works fine is FireFox

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. User .Net 4.0 and standard code from your website
2. add the fileupload control to a page (   <asp:FileUpload ID="FileUpload1" 
runat="server" class="multi" accept="gif|jpg|png" maxlength="3" />)
3. Select a file 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
If you use Firefox, the file name is immediately shown under the control. If 
you user IE8 there is a long (10-15 seconds) delay regardless of file size 
before the file name show below the control.

What version of the plugin/jQuery are you using?
PLUGIN VERSION:1.47
JQUERY VERSION:1.4.1

On what browser(s) or operating system? Windows 2003 IIS .Net4

The project has been dormant for over a year and many of the support requests 
have been resolved and/or are invalid. So we're going to archive them all, 
pending review.

If you're still having a problem with the plugin, please visit the project page
