Expense Report Automation

• Pay attention to an individual’s Org membership
• Keep track of all addresses/contracts associated with each Org (Gnosis safe, etc.)
• Lookup each expense within each Org
• Lookup metadata for each expense to categorize/label
• Aggregate expenses per Org
• Make it possible to integrate this into an invoice/request/IOU that is sent to the Org

Motivation

If you are deeply involved with a DAO, certain parts about getting paid are a hassle.

The motivation here is to see how much of this can be automated, at scale, in a way that benefits anyone working on web3.

V1

Focus on on-chain expenses only

Considerations:

• Attack vectors
• Spending limits
• Approved list of vendors (e.g. Gnosis Safe, ENS, etc.)

V2+

Off-chain expenses possible

Considerations:

• Proof of payment (receipt? photo?)
• Conversion rates (fiat to crypto)

Imagine if your internet service provider started accepting ETH and you could do a look-up on your expenses there to charge back to the DAO
