Potential topic for blog/cc: How to create off-boarding checklists for technical projects? #450

I think most research projects lack good on-boarding and off-boarding processes. A blog article or a series if curated content would very helpful in addressing this topic.

Obviously: (1) transfer of knowledge (how to make this efficient, what questions can be asked to the existing person), (2) signing paperwork if any related to code contributions etc. (3) returning of assets such as RSA keys, laptops, (4) completion of work or status on work completion, (5) exit interview...

What things come to your mind when an employee is existing a project?

I like this idea. I think there should be a similar checklist when bringing a project to conclusion. All too often, projects come to an end and many of the assets wind up falling into disrepair or getting lost entirely.

Thats a good idea. Perhaps you can open another issue for it?

I like this idea. We had a summer student that I asked to document some technologies that he had used. He did an excellent job that really helped us. Needless to say we keep him coming back.

A curated content for this may be a good starting point?
